Breakdown is the seventh track of Guns N' Roses from Use Your Illusion II. Breakdown can be interpreted as a song reflecting on betrayal and the fact that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. The song features Axl speaking a monologue taken from the movie Vanishing Point (1971), spoken by DJ Super Soul (Cleavon Little) while the police chase the protagonist’s Dodge Challenger.

Breakdown is one of the most rarely performed songs in the entire Guns N' Roses catalog. It made its debut in Worcester, MA on December 6th, 1991, several months after the Use Your Illusion albums were released. It was played again about a week later at Madison Square Garden in New York City on December 13th, 1991. Those are the only two documented performances of Breakdown.
